NZCETA Membership

NZCETA provides a range of services designed to create discussion and thinking as well as gathering and exchanging views and ideas about the teaching and learning in Commerce and Economics.

Membership is open to all persons whether they be registered teachers or simply interested in education.  The New Zealand-wide membership includes people from primary and post-primary schools, independent and integrated schools and tertiary institutions.

Members Input

CETA values input from all members. Ideas on curriculum materials development, professional development, workshops and other ideas are appreciated. The input can be via a remit to the associations AGM held in May each year or via the members comments-suggestion-feedback form or email

Becoming a member

To become a member of NZCETA or to renew your membership you must complete the online NZCETA Membership Application Form. Once the form is received and processed NZCETA will email you confirmation of 2021 Membership and your 2021 Membership Card.

Categories and costs

  • Full membership $105
  • Teacher in training membership $10.00
  • Associate Membership (Descriptor: 10 hrs or less)  $70

NOTE 1: Subscription invoices are emailed to all current members on 1 February each year and payment must be made no later than 1 May.

NOTE 2: To take advantage of NZCETA services application for membership should be made no later than 1 May each year.

Life members

The honorary office, Life Membership, is awarded to a small number of NZCETA members, in recognition of long and outstanding service. The award is only offered in those cases where contribution at national or branch level has been exemplary in all respects and recognises the voluntary effort of the awardee.
